Flavonoids to maintain sexual performance

November 13, 2019

Sexual fitness is very important for a healthy and efficient functioning in everyday life. This makes it all the more difficult for the growing phenomenon of impotence among men, which affects increasingly younger men (20-25 years of age), to be even more difficult. Over a decade, the problem will affect over 300 million people. That is why there is a lot of talk about a healthy lifestyle, awareness, proper diet and the use of dietary supplements and aphrodisiacs. Antioxidants are also an important issue. Flavonoids are also being exchanged more and more willingly for maintaining sexual performance, which is also used in cosmetology. These compounds are responsible for the elimination of free radicals, which in turn slows down the processes and symptoms of aging. What are flavonoids and how do they work?

What are flavonoids?

Flavonoids to maintain sexual function are substances present in plants. It is a group of compounds, which have been diagnosed in the family for more than 7000 years, where the main components are benzene and piron. Carbon atoms, which are subject to chemical changes, take part in their construction. This leads to strong antioxidant properties. This power depends on the amount of hydroxyl groups that act as antioxidants. These are chemical compounds present in plants. They fulfil certain roles in them - apart from antioxidants, they are dyestuffs and protect against insects or fungi. They can be found in practically every element of the plant (from the root to the tips of leaves). Their high concentration is found in citrus, beet, herbs and hemp, where they constitute up to 1:40 of the entire weight of the plant in green parts.

The role of flavonoids

Flavonoids protect plants against insects and fungi and regulate the cell cycle. Supplied in the diet have anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects, reduce the risk of cancer and show high biological activity. All thanks to the antioxidant processes that take place thanks to them, which eliminate the presence of free radicals (i.e. molecules in which there are no electrons) responsible for the destruction of protein cells and weakening of body tissues by increasing cell death. Flavonoids stop enzymes responsible for the formation of free radicals, prevent the oxidation of vitamin C and reduce the destructive effects of vitamin C.

Flavonoids and health

These compounds have an antioxidant effect, i.e. they prevent the formation and development of free radicals. In addition, they show other beneficial properties for humans - all because of the biological versatility of the species. They have a holistic positive effect on the human body, mainly in the bloodstream. First of all, by lowering blood pressure, they prevent platelets from collecting without a clear reason, and also limit the development of cholesterol, improve the flexibility of vessels in the bloodstream. A healthy lifestyle and an appropriate diet enriched with flavonoids can be a hit in the bull's eye with a view to maintaining high quality of health for many years to come. In order to get to know the role of flavonoids and consciously introduce them into a diet, it is advisable to consult a specialist who will help in this process.
